New Life began as a small Bible study in the early 1970’s, meeting in the home of Jack and Rose Marie Miller—a couple intent on sharing the love of Jesus Christ with those in need. This small group began holding worship services in Jenkintown, PA on Sunday afternoons, looking for ways to make Jesus known to each other, their community, and the world. We were formally organized as a congregation in 1974.
Our church was established on a foundation of passion for gospel-centered ministry; a conviction that believing the gospel of Jesus Christ is the power for living for the Christian as well as the unbeliever. The dynamism that results has led to the establishment of several more New Life congregations in the Philadelphia area, churches planted by seminarians who have gone out from the church, significant mission enterprises, and a renewal movement popularly known as “Sonship.”
We have nearly identical worship services every Sunday at 9:00 and 10:45am, held in the sanctuary (upstairs if entering from the parking lot side), typically 75-90 minutes long. Children of all ages are welcome and encouraged to worship with their families. Dress is casual.
Adult Sunday school runs concurrent with one or both services. Infant and toddler through Pre-K Sunday school is available during both services, and elementary through Sr. High typically during one or the other.
In between services, head over to the Fellowship Hall for coffee, tea, juice, and snacks in between services and to meet others and engage in conversation.
