About Us
New Life began as a small Bible study in the early 1970’s, meeting in the home of Jack and Rose Marie Miller—a couple intent on sharing the love of Jesus Christ with those in need. This small group began holding worship services in Jenkintown, PA on Sunday afternoons, looking for ways to make Jesus known to each other, their community, and the world. We were formally organized as a congregation in 1974.
Our church was established on a foundation of passion for gospel-centered ministry; a conviction that believing the gospel of Jesus Christ is the power for living for the Christian as well as the unbeliever. The dynamism that results has led to the establishment of several more New Life congregations in the Philadelphia area, churches planted by seminarians who have gone out from the church, significant mission enterprises, and a renewal movement popularly known as “Sonship.”
New Life Presbyterian Church is a member congregation of the Philadelphia Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA).
We have nearly identical worship services every Sunday at 8:30 and 11:00am, held in the sanctuary upstairs (now accessible via elevator), and typically 75-85 minutes long. Children of all ages are welcome and encouraged to worship with their families. Dress is casual.
Our Education Hour is “sandwiched” in between the two services, during which we offer numerous Adult Sunday school classes.
Also during Education Hour are infant and toddler through Pre-K Sunday school, elementary classes, Jr. High, and Sr. High.
In addition to Sunday school classes, childcare is typically available during our 8:30 and 11:00am services as well. (For particulars on any given Sunday, check the Sunday information page for reference.)
Coffee, tea, and more are available in The Gallery, a space conducive to meet others and engage in conversation.
